Frequently Asked Questions - ContactPERSONA On-Demand

What is CPOD?

CPOD is a batch/project-based version of our flagship ContactPERSONA service. CPOD takes contact/company/lead files that have been collected from various sources, runs them through a sophisticated multi-step validation, cleaning and enrichment process. We then separate recoverable records from unrecoverable ones and deliver the clean, enriched file back to you for use in your sales and marketing efforts.

There are no lock-in subscriptions with CPOD, you use it when you need it.

What are the main functions of CPOD?

The main functions of CPOD are:

  • We load files provided by you from different sources such as:

    • Legacy CRM databases

    • Lists received from Demand Generation vendors

    • Trade show swipe lists

    • Lead lists received from Content Syndication vendors

  • We separate recoverable from unrecoverable records using several validation methods

  • We refresh, revalidate and append missing data to the records marked as recoverable

  • The records go through a final quality assurance check with our QA team before being deemed "Deliverable"

  • The output file is sent to you along with the discarded file.

I have Salesforce, why do I need CPOD?

Salesforce has good CRM capabilities and can store contacts, accounts and leads. What it doesn’t do well is manage data for:

  • Duplicates

  • Data Aging (lead, contact and company data going out of date)

  • Automatically clean and verifying data being added to the system

  • Depending on your number of agency users, Salesforce can be cost prohibitive whereas CPMS is data driven pricing and is cost effective at 5 or 500 users

CPOD is not intended to replace systems like Salesforce CRM. It is designed to solve clean and enhance data before you enter it into Salesforce and other CRM platforms. CPOD can also be used for doing one-time or periodic full clean and refreshes of existing Salesforce leads, contacts and accounts.

Why does CPOD even exist?

Very simple. According to the 6th annual Dun & Bradstreet B2B survey, 49% of all B2B users are not confident in the quality of their data.

Of the 51% are, 40% of those are only partially confident in their data.

That means over 50% of those of you reading this FAQ have a B2B data quality problem. That’s why CPOD and our other products exist.

I have a Marketing Automation system like Marketo, HubSpot or Pardot. Do I need CPOD?

Yes. Average industry attrition in the USA is currently around 27%. This means that your contact database is going out of date by as much as ¼ every single year you don’t refresh and revalidate it. You can have the best Marketing Automation system in the world and the best designed campaigns, but, if your data is out of date you are going get high bounce rates and low response rates even if the email doesn’t bounce. You should definitely clean your data periodically before loading up campaigns in marketing systems

What skills do my team need to use CPOD?

Nothing really. The process is simple. You send us a data file exported from Salesforce or other CRM systems and we send you the clean one back which you then merge back into your CRM system using the unique record ID. All you need is your Salesforce Administrator to export the initial file and merge the clean one back. We can walk you through this if required.

Is My Data Secure?

Yes. Our CPOD systems are run in a secure Amazon hosted environment and takes advantage of all the security benefits that come with that including SSL encrypted access. Integrated Access Management and virtual firewalls.

How much does it cost?

That depends on the volume of data you intend to store in it, we have a tiered pricing structure for CPOD that means you only pay for the data we actually validate and clean. Records we are not able to validate and recover we do not charge for. Contact us with your data volumes for pricing.

Where is my Return on Investment (ROI) Coming From?

Clean sales and marketing data have a multitude of benefits to both Marketing and Sales teams. Here are just a few examples:

  • According to Gartner, Account Executives spend up to 27% of their working time looking for data on prospects they should already have. Take that percentage and multiply it by the rolled-up salary cost of the AE and they as a percentage of their quota target and you could be losing $300,000 a year in salaried time and lost quota attainment for every single AE.

  • There’s a clear disconnect between how Sales and Marketing perceive the quality of leads generated by Marketing methods: 59% of marketers say they provide salespeople with their best quality leads, while salespeople rank marketing-sourced leads last. (HubSpot, 2018)

  • Segmenting by title or role (49%) and by industry (48%) are mainstays for roughly half of the respondents, and a sizable number are segmenting by persona (39%). (Demand Gen Report, 2016)

  • Higher response rates due to communications that are targeted and relevant came out as a top benefit among marketers surveyed; it was cited by 66% of marketers as a 4 or 5 — on a scale of 1 to 5. (Demand Gen Report, 2016)

What if I want to use CPOD more than once in a year?

This will often happen if you attend multiple trade shows/events, engage content syndication vendors or buy leads from external vendors.

If this is the case, you can sign an annual agreement with us at a pre-agreed contact processing rate based on volume tiers. As your cumulative record processing reaches each tier, we automatically apply the next lower tier price.

Once an agreement is in place you can send us your files for processing at any time during the year and we will typically turn those files around in a few business days (depending on volume)

Do you have contacts bounce after you build and deliver them?

Sometimes. No data is ever 100% infallible and contacts move job at the rate of up to 2.5% of your database every single month. Our bounce rates on built data are typically 5% or less which is among the best, if not the best in the B2B data business.

What happens is data we deliver turns out to be bad?

We provide a 30-day warranty on all delivered data. Provide a bounce report or feedback documentation on inaccurate or bounced records and we provide a credit against the original batch or against a future batch.

Note: We do not credit for emails that bounce due to spam controls or defenses that reject emails for various reasons beyond our control including:

  • Too many graphic elements

  • Too many hyperlinks

  • Misconfigured email domain where the emails are originating

  • Phrases within emails that trigger spam controls

All bounce reports must be accompanied by bounce codes/error messages

The warranty on delivered data applies for 30 days from the date/time the data is delivered
